About This Archive

Documenting calls for violence that predated the May 13, 2026 incident.

Why This Exists

On May 13, 2026, at approximately 1:20 p.m. Central Time, Dalton Levi Eatherly (known online as ChudTheBuilder or Chud the Builder) was involved in a shooting outside the Montgomery County Courthouse in Clarksville, Tennessee. He was subsequently charged with attempted murder and related firearm offenses.

In the days and months that followed, a large volume of online commentary emerged celebrating or commenting on the event. This archive exists to preserve the record of what was said before the incident — specifically, public social media posts that called for Eatherly's death or for violent physical acts against him.

The Hard Cutoff

All entries must be verifiably posted before:

May 13, 2026 — 1:20:00 p.m. CDT (UTC-5)

This is not an arbitrary date. It is the documented time window of the courthouse altercation. Any post made on or after this moment falls outside the scope of this project.

Verification Methodology

Every entry in the archive is required to include:

  • A screenshot showing the exact post timestamp (absolute date and time, not relative "X hours ago")
  • A link to a public archive (archive.ph or web.archive.org) captured as close as possible to the original post time
  • A written verificationMethod explaining how the time was confirmed
  • The timestamp stored in ISO 8601 format with Central Time offset

Maintainers perform a manual review of every submission. The first 20 entries will receive extra scrutiny. Submissions without credible timestamp proof are rejected.

Scope — What We Collect

We accept posts that contain clear calls for:

  • The death of Chud / chudthebuilder (e.g., "kill him", "he should die", "someone should shoot him")
  • Violent physical acts (beating, assault, lynching, hanging, shooting, "put hands on him", etc.)

We do not collect general criticism, calls for deplatforming, "he should be in jail", or expressions of dislike that lack violent intent.

What This Archive Is Not

  • It is not a call for or endorsement of violence against any person.
  • It is not a complete record of all online discussion about Eatherly.
  • It does not include post-incident reactions (those are out of scope by design).
  • It is not affiliated with Dalton Eatherly, his legal defense, or any political organization.

Technical Details

The site is a static, zero-dependency web application:

  • Single index.html + Tailwind via CDN + vanilla JavaScript
  • All data in data/posts.json (easily editable via GitHub web UI)
  • Screenshots stored in assets/screenshots/ (compressed)
  • Hosted on GitHub Pages (free, automatic deploys from main)
  • No backend, no tracking, no JavaScript frameworks

This design allows anyone with a text editor and a browser to contribute or run the site locally without installing Node.js or any build tools.

Corrections & Takedowns

If you believe an entry has an incorrect timestamp, please open a GitHub Issue labeled timestamp-dispute with evidence. We will review and correct or remove the entry if warranted.

For platform removal requests (DMCA, etc.), contact the repository maintainer via a private security advisory or the email listed in the repository settings.

ChudDefense is an independent archival project. All content is presented for documentary and research purposes under principles of fair use and public record.
